The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and comestics giant L'Oreal recentlly announced the names of five exceptional women scientists including Lourdes J. Cruz of the Marine Science Institute at the University of the Philippines Diliman. Dr. Cruz will receive the 2010 L'Oreal-UNESCO Awards in the Life Sciences next March in Paris, France.  Dr. Cruz collaborates with Dr. Michael Kron, BBC faculty member and Director of the Medical College of Wisconsin's Global Health Pathway program.  Read more about the award here.
