Dr. Yi (Sherry) Zhang, postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Michael Olivier’s laboratory in the Biotechnology and Bioengineering Center, is a recipient of the 2009 Trainee Research Award presented by the Annual American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) at their annual meeting in Honolulu, HI. Her abstract entitled “INSIG1 influences obesity-related hypertriglyceridemia in humans” received favorable reviews by both the Program Committee and the Awards Committee and was selected as one of 60 out of over 400 trainee submissions.
